Warmer weather usually means more invitations to barbecues and cookouts and while it’s always nice to take flowers or a bottle of wine to your hostess, here’s some fun ideas for different hostess gifts.
KVOR’s Table Talk – I Am a Guest On Teresa Farney’s (Gazette Food Editor) Radio Show!
KVOR’s Table Talk I had the pleasure of meeting Teresa Farney, Colorado Springs Gazette food editor and host of “Table Talk on KVOR” radio show this past week when I was a guest on her show. She and DJ Mark Goldberg, who was sitting in for DJ Aaron Seller. were so warm and welcoming and […]
Free Spice – Penzeys Spices
Penzeys is my favorite place to buy spices and we’re fortunate to have one here in the Springs. They have really great spices and good prices. If you order their catalog they always have a “special” coupon inside and this month it’s for a FREE 1/2 cup jar of Ruth Ann’s Muskego Ave Chicken and Fish Seasoning (a $5.79 value).
Start With Seeds and Save Money on Vegetable and Herb Plants

April’s Hostess Gift Ideas….
I think it’s nice to bring a hostess gift when going to someone’s house for dinner. This month I got most of the items at the Dollar Tree store and a few things from Goodwill…..if you have the budget to spend more money, you could use these ideas and just buy more expensive items….(I personally would be happy to be gifted with any of these!)
Keep your flower bouquets fresher for longer
I love fresh flowers. I just wish they lasted longer! I recently read an article that suggested dropping an aspirin in the water would help keep them fresh for longer. I used mini carnations in my “experiment” (to see if even the type of flower made a difference) and I did come up with different […]

March – Great Toy/Book/Game Finds at the Thrift Stores
We have a grandson who is two and (except for Christmas and his birthday) I get all of his toys at the thrift stores. For the most part I look for known brand-names, toys that are easy to clean, and of course age-appropriate items. This month’s featured toys I bought cost me a total of $11.13!
Grocery Store Club Cards and Coupons
I am not a coupon clipper, unless it’s very, very convenient. I do clip from the Sunday paper and I did clip the grocery store coupons in the weekly ads because it was convenient…. …but then I discovered that if you have a Safeway or King Sooper’s Club Card, you can go online and download that […]

If you go to their website and sign up for their free catalog, you will get a coupon for a free spice every time a new catalog […]
