This is a great way to use up herbs you grow or buy in the grocery store, especially the ones you buy because they can be expensive and you typically don’t use all of them in a single recipe.
Pork Chops With Pineapple-Mango Salsa, Spicy Grilled Corn and Salt-Crusted Baked Potatoes-($10 or Less Meal)
This is a super easy dinner…quick enough for a hectic week-night, or for when you have guests over for a laid-back barbecue. I cook the potatoes (in the microwave) and boil the corn on the cob, then finish them off on the grill for some extra flavor. Make your salsa and corn sauce before you cook the chops, have your potatoes and corn cooked and ready to add to the grill and everything will be finished at the same time. Then entire meal came in at around $7.00 (the chops, mango, potatoes, corn and cilantro were on sale).
Throw An Inexpensive But Fabulous Baby Shower!
Hopefully this will give you some ideas for a party or shower you might be hosting in the future. Using what you already have in a different way (like the football dish), and picking up paper products and little decorations from a dollar store can really help you save money.
Farmers Market Schedule
One of the things I look forward to every summer is going to our local farmers market. Of course I go because there’s nothing like fresh vegetables and fruits at a good price but I also enjoy the whole experience.
Here is a list of the different locations and times of our local Colorado Springs farmer’s markets.
Cheap but Good Steaks to Grill
Remember….check out the section at almost every grocery store where they have their discounted meats. There’s nothing wrong with them but are marked down anywhere from 25 to 50% off because they are getting near their expiration date or the store has too much in stock.

Grocery Store Club Cards and Coupons
I am not a coupon clipper, unless it’s very, very convenient. I do clip from the Sunday paper and I did clip the grocery store coupons in the weekly ads because it was convenient…. …but then I discovered that if you have a Safeway or King Sooper’s Club Card, you can go online and download that […]
How $10 Meals Are Calculated
Once a week we’ll feature a meal for 4 for $10.00 or less. If you look at the list of ingredients required for each recipe you might think there’s no way all those ingredients cost less than $10.00… …and you’d be right, IF you were to to take that list and buy everything at one […]
