If your kids came home with more Halloween candy than they could possibly eat or you have more leftover candy than you expected, here are five great ways you can donate it for a good cause. Your extra candy can sweeten someone else’s day. Deployed troops, vets, first responders, and others will all appreciate a treat or two.
I think this would be a nice thing to do with the kids, perhaps let them decide what to donate, or even a great class project.

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES
- Call your local chapter to find out rules on bringing your unopened Halloween candy they can serve to sick children and their families to enjoy.
You can also check with your local food pantry, homeless shelter or nursing home to see if they accept your leftover candy. Just call to see if they do.
And of course you can always add it to brownie or cookie dough, bake into cakes, freeze it, add to your DIY trail mix, or save for decorating a gingerbread house.
