Need ideas on affordable Halloween costumes or decorations?
Last week I filmed live at Discover Goodwill for the FOX21 morning show where reporter John Martin and I discussed some easy and inexpensive DIY Halloween décor projects. The segments aired between the 5 – 8 a.m. hours, which I know can be a busy time when getting ready for work, getting the kids to school, etc., so here they are…
The videos are pretty short but full of fun, easy, and super cheap ideas for not only décor, but lots and lots of costume ideas. And John Martin is just so darn funny, I’d watch just to see him, especially in his “cat lady/woman costume.”
Dressed as a gypsy, with all the pieces except for the boots and wig coming from Goodwill, here are my easy DIY Halloween décor ideas…

Here are some great costume ideas for kids or adults. And Discover Goodwill now sells new, packaged costumes for the whole family priced a lot less than you’ll find at retail or Halloween stores. I saw some of the same exact costumes at Goodwill as I did at a few retail stores for around $20 less (or even more.) Love the models, especially the younger ones. They had a lot more energy at 5 in the morning than I did!
In this episode my friend and Discover Goodwill Communications Specialist, Charise, talks about the Boo Book, which you can find in Discover Goodwill stores, filled with DIY costumes, custom creations, Hotel Transylvania 2 costume themes, and Halloween accessories.

Why spend a lot of money on something you use only once a year? The price of costumes and decorations can add up fast, especially if you have more than 1 child. Add the cost of candy to pass out, and well, you’re investing a lot for one night. Shop Discover Goodwill or other thrift stores for huge savings.

And here’s my friend Bradd ( Discover Goodwill Asst Dir, Marketing & Communications,) with his Bill Nye the Safari Guy costume on, discussing why shopping at Discover Goodwill is such a great deal, saving money while helping our community while being eco-friendly.

Lots of great ideas that won’t cost a ton of money, and are simple, easy, and fun.
