We’ve been eating a lot of mangoes this summer, especially in salsas and slaws, mostly because we like them and they’ve been on sale (from 50 cents to $1 each.) Our 3-year old grandson likes them so much, that when we took him to the zoo the other day and were going to buy a snack, he asked for a mango! (They didn’t have any and he was upset, wanting a mango more than popcorn or candy.) I assumed they were good for you, as most fruit is, but I didn’t know how good they actually were for you. Here’s a great article spotlighting the health benefits mangoes have, including ways they can help with cancer, vision, heart, brain, digestion and the immune system. Thanks Suzanne (from Aupair.org) for this informative and interesting article! Here’s a mango salsa and slaw we made this year that is absolutely delicious!
