Some of us may have fond memories of prom and some of us maybe not so much. Regardless, here’s your chance to relive the best night of high school or create new memories with a good friend or loved one. All for a good cause, helping Colorado kids.
4 Colorado Kids
A friend recently introduced me to 4 Colorado Kids, a non-profit organization officially sponsored by Wellcare Pediatric Therapy Specialists. The mission of 4 Colorado Kids is to partner in making lives better for Colorado children so they can thrive and feel empowered to achieve life and academic success. It is a non-profit so 100% of donations goes directly to 4 Colorado Kids Erase the Need https://4cokids.org., a program offering summer scholarships and school supplies for Colorado kids and teachers.
It’s a sad fact but 1 in 6 Colorado kids are living in poverty. When families are struggling financially it can be difficult to pay the rent, keep the utilities on, put food on the table, and keep the kids clothed, much less buy school supplies. Erase the Need helps provide new backpacks filled with new school supplies so kids in need don’t have to start off the beginning of a new school year feeling different.
And in my personal opinion, teachers don’t make enough money. They are educating our children for a better future and lots of times paying for much-needed school supplies out of their own pocket. According to a Federal Department of Education survey released in 2018, public-school teachers spent on average $500 of their own money to provide supplies for their classrooms. Erase the Need not only helps our children in need but also our teachers.
ADULT AFTER PROM DANCE PARTY!!
This is a fun-filled benefit to support teachers and ensure kids are prepared for academic success.
Relive (or again, recreate) the best night of high school with music, dancing, local cuisine and the crowning of Prom King and Queen. There will be signature cocktails, a silent auction, and an award ceremony for the evening’s winners of the “best dressed” and “best dancers” competitions. - My husband has agreed to be my date! I have lots of dresses I could wear but will be heading to our local Discover Goodwill to hopefully find a “new” prom dress. And yes, I’m hoping to win “best dressed” because I know I won’t be winning any prizes for my dancing skills. This would be a fun event for a group, you and your honey, or come alone and make some new friends. Drinks, dancing, food, music, prizes…and all for a good cause! Hope to see you there!
