I could spend hours in a dollar store, finding items I need, want, or just think are fun. The dollar store I prefer shopping at is the Dollar Tree because it’s close to my house and everything is a dollar. Sure, some things I get there, I know won’t last forever but I’ve been using a lot of my purchases for years and they still look good/work.
These deli baskets are not only convenient, they’re fun. Perfect for an outdoor barbecue, casual dinner or picnic. Line them with wax paper, paper towel or bandanas to make them even more festive. Four baskets for a buck.
I think this has to be one of my favorite buys this year. I almost bought a metal scraper the other day for ten dollars and now I’m glad I didn’t. These are great for scooping up veggies, cheese, nuts, etc., that you chop up on the chopping board and want to transfer to a bowl or pan. You can actually also use this as a small strainer. I like that it’s plastic, which will be safe for the grandkids to use when helping me in the kitchen.
A plastic sippy cup for wine! Enough said.
I always have these parasol picks on hand to add to fruity cocktails when company comes over. You get 16 picks in a pack. And who can’t use more bag clips? For some reason, my bag clips disappear like socks in a dryer do. These are colorful, sturdy and you get 4 for a dollar.
Keep your knees in comfort while gardening with this kneeling pad. Also good for indoor projects where you have to kneel. And if it gets dirty, simply rinse it off.
Gardening gloves and flip-flops. You can buy these anywhere of course but why spend more if you don’t have to? Lots of colors and styles of flip-flops (I personally like to use my “cheap” ones for yard work.) I’ve been using Dollar Tree gardening gloves for years now and they last just as long as my more expensive ones. I have a tendency to pull off my gloves while working and then spend time hunting them down…bright, colorful ones makes them easier to find.
The Dollar Tree always has a huge selection of nail polish colors and when they only cost a dollar, it’s affordable to experiment with colors. This polish is from wet n wild and is color 34342. L.A. Colors eyeshadow in Sweet Pleasure. You get 6 shades that go on easy, don’t crease, and don’t fade. Lots of different colors to choose from.
We have grandsons who spend the night sometimes when visiting grandma and grandpa and they love brushing their teeth. Especially with these colorful toothbrushes. They are perfect for little hands and come with travel caps so when they aren’t in use, they stay clean. And they love swishing their Spider-Man mouthwash around in their mouth. There’s several different “character” mouthwashes available and they are sugar and alcohol free.
Lots of heavy-duty plastic bowls and serving pieces in a variety of colors. Perfect for those outdoor barbecues and get-togethers. You can create any look you want, mixing and matching pieces and colors. And if they get dropped or knocked over, it’s no big deal. I personally hand wash these or put them in the top rack of the dishwasher.
Be kind to our Earth and use totes instead of plastic bags. Different sizes and colors to choose from, and since they are only a dollar, you can have one for all your different needs. I like to keep one in the closet filled with cleaning supplies, one in the garage with gardening supplies and of course they are perfect for shopping and lugging anything around. Also good for picnics, beach trips, library visits, and shopping at your local Farmers Market. The Dollar Tree also has smaller totes perfect for little hands, which would be fun for “take-home” goodies at birthday parties.
Perk up a plain picnic table or create a colorful look indoors with placemats and melamine plates in so many different colors, patterns and shapes. At only a dollar each, “accidents” that do happen, won’t be a big deal.
It’s a scrub brush…something most of us use on a daily basis. It works exactly the same as higher-priced ones so why not pay just a dollar? Fun shapes and colors and this fits perfectly in your hand. They are so cute, your kids might not mind having to do the dishes.
