Tobacco, coffee, tea, wine, and many other things, including certain fruits and vegetables, can stain your teeth and make them look yellow. There are quite a few teeth whitening strips, gels, and pastes on the market but they can be expensive. Of course getting your teeth cleaned at the dentist will help get your smile more white but sometimes you just don’t have the time or the monthly budget to quite fit your schedule.
I recently tried a recipe for teeth whitening you can do at home and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. I saw immediate results the very first time I tried this. The ingredients are inexpensive, with most of the items things you probably already have on hand.
The recipe claims are that you can whiten extremely yellow teeth and remove plaque and tartar buildup. I smoke, drink tons of coffee and enjoy my red wine, all habits that can make your teeth more likely to stain and turn yellow. Like I said earlier, after brushing with this, I saw instant results with my teeth being at least one shade whiter. I did follow the directions exactly and admit, brushing for 5 minutes was a bit boring but then I just picked up a magazine and it was all good.
Here’s what you’ll need…
Baking soda
Salt
Toothbrush
Water
Cup
Hydrogen peroxide
Dental pick
Antiseptic mouth wash
Directions –
Mix 1 tablespoon baking soda with 1/2 teaspoon salt in a small container. Wet toothbrush then dip in mixture. Brush teeth as usual. Continue this step, dipping and brushing for about 5 minutes.
Mix some hydrogen peroxide with warm water in a glass. Swish around mouth 1 minute. Spit and rinse with cool water.
Using a dental pick, remove yellow tartar from teeth. Be careful not to scrape too hard around gum area.
Rinse with mouthwash. Repeat every 2 days till you get desired effect.
If you try this we’d love to hear how it worked for you.
