The more I read about turmeric, the more it seems like a “miracle” herb/spice. For thousands of years it’s been used to treat a huge variety of illnesses due to its potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits and also as a natural beauty product. There has been extensive research, studies, and tests done on this amazing spice with results that do seem like miracles. I personally have spent days reading up on it and the more I read, the more I’m astounded at how many diseases and illnesses it can actually help with.
One article I found particularly interesting is this one from eatlocalgrown.com which lists 14 drugs that turmeric is actually as effective as. Seriously, how cool would it be if instead of popping a pill, you could simply add turmeric to your diet? Of course you don’t want to stop taking doctor prescribed medicine, based on something you read but you can check with your doctor (if you’re on medications,) to see how you might benefit from turmeric. And if you’re healthy, turmeric can help keep you that way.
**Turmeric isn’t for evyerone…it can behave like a blood thinner so if you’re on a blood thinner like warfarin or heparin, don’t use this without talking to your doctor!

Turmeric can also be used in your beauty regime, making oily skin less oily, helping dry skin be more moist, and even help with hair loss. This article from stylecraze.com has a list of 28 amazing benefits of turmeric for skin, health and hair. I personally tried the recipe for cracked heels and it truly helped soften them better than any lotion I’ve used.

I did an earlier post on a couple of different ways you could use turmeric, including a tea recipe and how to naturally whiten your teeth with turmeric, which I personally tried and saw results.
