When the warmer weather and different lighting comes around, I like to not only do some spring cleaning, but to freshen up the house a bit, for an indoor “mood” that fits the sunnier spring and summer months. And it doesn’t have to cost a small fortune to do so.
Simple touches like changing out heavier print/material throw pillows for something lighter can instantly change things up. I typically put away certain decorative items in a storage box and lighten up the shelves for a cleaner feel. (I don’t toss or give away the items because I like them, I just store till I want to bring them out again.)
My favorite thing to do, which is also free, is to simply bring in foliage and flowers from my yard. Even budding branches placed in a simple vase can make a real impact…keeping the feel of my house lighter and fresher, which is the ultimate goal I want for my living space during this time of year.
Here’s some simple, easy ways you can bring a springtime feel to your own home, with some lovely pictures you can use as an example, from House Beautiful.
