I have seen a lot of cute DIY projects but the following ideas, using dresser drawers, are some of my favorite. These are perfect projects for old dressers you were going to sell or donate, broken dressers that still have the drawers, or dressers you can pick up for next to nothing at a thrift store or garage sale. Most of the time I can find a nightstand or dresser for $10 or less at thrift stores.
Depending on whether or not you paint the drawers, most of these creative ideas can be done in an hour or less, and don’t require a lot of “fancy” tools. And the ideas themselves are simple, requiring very few materials, if any, which keeps the cost down.
If you’re lacking space in your home there are some great projects that will give you more storage space for toiletries, reading material, jewelry, and more. There are some artistic ways you can use them as art or to hold your collectibles. Use them in your bathroom, laundry room, mudroom, kitchen and, well, wherever you want.
A few more complex but still easy projects I thought were particularly cute were the DIY dog bed and dollhouse, which require more materials and time but are still simple enough for beginners.
And if the drawer itself is broken, there are a couple of fun ways you can use just the front of the drawers.
One of my favorite ways to repurpose a drawer that isn’t shown below is to attach wheels to it and use it to store clothes or shoes under your bed. I had a friend who did that and I thought she was so clever! You could use this idea for literally anything that fits in the drawer.
