I have so much fun trying out these “As Seen On TV” products. I’ve been very surprised at how well some of them work (my favorites so far have been the Genie Bra and Gray Away.) This month I decided to try Windshield Wonder because my car windows were really dirty and I actually found one, still in the package and never used, at a garage sale for 25 cents (they typically cost about $9.99.)
The Windshield Wonder claims to make cleaning windshields fast and easy, without using any chemicals.
The package contains a 16 inch ergonomic designed handle that easily detaches which makes it easy to store in the glove box. This is the perfect size to reach across the dash without straining. The pivoting head makes it super easy to reach the entire windshield with ease and turns 180 degrees. You also get 2 microfiber bonnets and a spray bottle.
The directions say to fill the spray bottle with clean water and lightly wet the microfiber cleaning bonnet (once you’ve attached the bonnet to the handle,) and simply wipe your windshield. They suggest you use a back and forth motion and steady pressure.
Did it work?
Yes it did. No streaks and it was easy on my arthritic hands and wrists. On the inside windshield it got all the smudges and dirt off. On the outside windshield it got everything off too. I did have to scrub extra hard to get some really hard bird poo off but it did eventually come off.
Once the bonnet becomes dirty, you can toss it in the washing machine or hand wash it, allowing it to air dry. The Windshield Wonder also claims to be a great way to defog your window when you don’t have time to wait for your car defroster to take effect. (I didn’t try this since I didn’t have a foggy window at the time.) I did try this on my glass dining room table too and it worked great, especially on the underside which is really hard for me to get to.
I had to laugh when I read the warning label which said, “Do not use while driving, driver may become distracted.”
Anyway, for me, it totally did what it promised and I figure I’ll save money by not having to buy window cleaner. You can usually find this at Wal-Mart, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond and other stores or go to
*I usually check out comments after I try these products and for the Windshield Wonder, they had a very high percentage of positive comments, with very few negative ones.

Okay, I usually laugh at those warnings to & think, “wow! Who is so stupid they don’t know that peanut butter might contain peanuts, but there’s obviously that ONE GUY!” Well, guess who would be that “one guy” at a stop light thinking, “Oh, it will only take a second for me to clean those bugs off of my windshield!” case in point, trying to open & hang the Bath & Body Works car freshener while driving the other day…I think the panic look on the drivers of all the cars around me explained a lot!
