Well it’s no secret that I like my wine. And since my husband likes it just as much as I do, we do have several, or some would say lots of empty wine bottles every week. Typically we recycle them but occasionally I’ll use a cool looking bottle as a vase or fill a few up with sand and use as unique bookends. I’m not much of a do-it-yourselfer so when it comes to projects, they have to be simple. Like filling an empty wine bottle with water and adding a flower or two.
Warm weather is finally here which means you’ll find my husband and me on our back deck most evenings grilling and sipping wine. Which means even more empty wine bottles! Ok, so besides the fact we drink wine, I’m always looking for easy DIY projects to try with empty bottles that I actually think I could do and that would look great (instead of it looking like a “project” I did.)
Which leads me to these 10 (easy) DIY projects from Country Living, upcycling empty wine bottles for backyard uses. The one I particularly like is the garden lantern. Because I don’t have an electrical outlet close to where I want to put them, I’m going to either use solar-powered string lights or battery-operated ones. Most of these ideas use minimal materials and can be made fairly quickly.
