Last year, after ripping another bed skirt while changing the sheets, I pulled it off and swore I would never put a bed skirt on a bed again. For years and years I have had a love/hate relationship with bed skirts and trying to keep them in place or ripping seams as I pull it up under the mattress but doing so because I like the way they look.
Ok, I know it’s not an earth-shattering problem but as I get older and my hands more arthritic, it was becoming an irritant every week. So after ripping that skirt off last year we went without until I found this product at the store the other day.
Wrap-Around Wonderskirt Tailored Bed Skirt…available at Bed Bath & Beyond
This Wonder Skirt, the easy-to-use wrap around bedskirt promised to go on fast without lifting your mattress while staying neatly in place and fitting easily on any bed. Not have to lift the mattress? Ok, I was willing to try this out and see if that claim was really true.
What is it exactly? The Wonder Skirt is a patent-pending bedskirt that eliminates the white platform found on traditional bedskirts by replacing it with an easy-on, band of color-matched fabric. Which means you don’t need to lift a heavy mattress to put it on, and keeps it from shifting or sagging.
All you have to do is place one fitted corner at the head of the bed. Next, tuck the band around the bed and position the other 3 corners. Finish by sliding the elastic band across the boxspring at the head of the bed and you’re done. Seriously easy!
I admit I have a tendency to be skeptical at times but this actually did work and again, it was super simple and easy on my hands. It comes in 5 colors and prices range from $24.99 to $39.99 depending on the size. It’s made of 65% polyester and 35% cotton and is machine washable.
It also comes with special pins to more securely attach the wonderskirt colorband to the boxspring top if you want but I didn’t use them and have had no problems.
When I first took it out of the package it had major wrinkles. I did steam it after putting it on the bed just to see how it looked while trying it out. After deciding to keep it, I did toss it in the washer/dryer and it came out almost wrinkle-free (good enough for me to not steam or iron again!)
*After purchasing this particular “wonderskirt bedskirt” I found similar products sold at other stores with prices that varied quite a bit. The reviews on these were very mixed too with quite a few saying the ones they tried didn’t work. This particular Wonder Skirt is made by Levinsohn Textile Company.

Where do you get more of the “Special Pins?”

Terry, Bed Bath & Beyond sells a box of 12 for $3.99. They are the spiral shaped pins, very similar to what came with the Wonder Skirt. The ones I saw were called “hold on” bed skirt pins. Hope this helps!
