I typically try to focus on budget meals that are healthy but every once in a while, it’s not a bad thing to eat something that’s just plain decadent. (At least in my opinion.) Anyway, if you’re going to have a “cheat” day where you’re not tallying up the sugar, calories, and other things we won’t talk about, this doughnut sandwich is the recipe to try. Salty yet sweet, with butter, bacon, cheese, and oh yeah, did I mention the glazed doughnut? And bacon? (But there’s also healthy spinach and protein-rich egg you can remind yourself if you start to feel guilty.)
Now I have to admit I haven’t personally sampled this since, as I’ve mentioned before, I have been diagnosed with celiac disease. I could of course use gluten-free glazed doughnuts but since I haven’t found any that actually taste good, well, what would be the point?
This recipe feeds 4, takes less than 30 minutes and depending on sale prices, should cost approximately 6 to 8 dollars.
I found this recipe on MomsEveryday, which always has great tips and recipes and just so happens to feature some of my articles.

Here’s the recipe (from Farmland Bacon.) If you do try this, I’d love to hear what you think.
Enjoy!
