I think good habits learned from a young age are easier to keep as an adult since they have become second nature. And if those positive habits are presented in a fun way, children will learn without even realizing there’s a “lesson” being taught.
Earth Day (April 22) is a perfect time to help our kids discover the importance of keeping our planet healthy and clean. And with these 50 really fun ideas, which encourages children to create objects from natural and recycled materials, it’s easy to do. Not only will they enjoy themselves while learning about nature and recycling, but they just might want to put the game controller down and spend more time outdoors.

This post comes from tinkerlab.com, created by Rachelle Doorley, which is a great resource for anyone interested in kids and creativity. I only wish her blogs had been around when my own son was young but now that I’ve got grandchildren, well, we’ll be doing some “tinkering while learning.”
Enjoy!
