Spring is in the air and garage sales will soon be popping up everywhere…here’s a few things to look for when shopping for children’s items…
Garage sales are an excellent venue to find great bargains on children’s items…from clothes to toys and everything in between, and especially good for larger items that parents don’t have the room or the desire to store after their children have “grown out” of them.
This Little Tikes turtle sand box still sells currently in retail stores. Walmart has it brand new for $49.97, and yet I found it for $3.00 at a local garage sale. I was in a 2-seater convertible when I drove by (wasn’t planning on garage sale shopping that day) so it was probably a pretty funny picture of this wedged into the front seat…..
This Fisher Price trike was also $3.00….saw it on eBay for $15.oo….has some use on it but once it’s ridden on the sidewalks a couple of time, it’s going to show some wear…and do little kids even notice? If it works, they really don’t care what it looks like-and this was in great condition.
And my best garage sale find so far is this Radio Flyer “Traveler” wagon. The wood side rails were a bit wobbly but after about 5 minutes with a hammer and a few nails, it was as good as new…Paid a whopping $5.00 for it….saw it selling on Amazon for ……are you ready?….$105.45!!!!! Super Grandma on a budget!
