Spring is around the corner even though, depending on where you live, it may not feel like it. And even though there might still be snow in the forecast before winter officially ends, the stores are getting in and displaying their new spring fashion lines. Not only does style, colors, textures, etc., change from season to season in clothes and accessories, but in makeup and nails too.
When it comes to nails, I am a bit boring and lazy. When I was younger, they were always super long and bright red. Now I keep them super short and when and if I do polish them, it’s typically in the shade of black. Black just goes with everything.
If you’re a bit more adventurous, there are tons of new spring shades, from grey and metallic, to neutrals and brights and pastels. Of course the best shade is always what works best with your skin tone.
Harper’s Bazaar just posted 13 of their favorite new nail polishes for spring. A few brands, in my personal opinion, are costly at $20 or more, but there are also more affordable brands you can easily find at the drug store. I personally find that the nail polishes and colors at our local Dollar Tree are amazing so I typically look at what’s trending and then pick up a bottle there, which only costs a buck. That is when I feel inclined to do my nails.

There are lots of new spring nail art ideas too. Some of these are a bit more intricate and not something my hand is steady enough to do but there are some super simple looks too…a small dot, yes I can do that.
Here are 15 spring nail art ideas, again from Harper’s Bazaar…

If you’re on a budget, or simply frugal, the Dollar Tree also has polish remover, cotton balls, manicure tools, nail art kits, artificial nails, and yes, tons of polish colors…all for a dollar.
