Super Bowl Sunday is the eighth highest beer selling day of the year….and for some, a fridge full of leftover beer takes up room, especially if you don’t drink it often. Or chances are you’ll have a few bottles of half-full but flat beers left over from the game watching. And then there are those who are scratching their heads and wondering how those two words could even be in the same sentence…”leftover beer?”
Regardless of your beer consumption, here’s a few ideas from Men’s Health on ways you can use up leftover beer. I will admit, a few of these ideas are a bit silly but for the most part, they’re great ideas.
I’ve personally marinated tougher cuts of meat in it overnight, boiled shrimp in it, killed slugs, and roasted chicken. You can also use it on cast-iron pots by adding a bit to the still warm pot/pan and letting it sit for a few minutes. I’ve also known people who polished their wood furniture with their beer dregs by dampening a microfiber cloth with it and then rubbing the wood gently, adding polish and deepening the wood color. I don’t wear a lot of gold jewelry but I’ve heard that if you soak it in a dish of beer and then gently polish it, it will make your gold jewelry look new again.
