Every year hundreds of new beauty items come out promising to “fix” whatever challenge you may be experiencing. Wrinkles, bags, acne, sun spots…you name it and you can find some product that claims it will “fix” your beauty dilemma. But will it?
I personally like the fact that you can find good quality makeup and skin care products at your local drugstore chains without having to spend a lot of money. In fact, a lot of professional makeup artists use some of the very products from drugstores that you and I do. But with so many to choose from, what really works and what doesn’t?
It would literally be impossible for me to check out each and every new product that hits drugstore shelves each year so I typically go to some of my favorite magazines to read up on their top new picks. Magazines like Glamour, ELLE, Vogue, and InStyle have a staff of pros with access to all these new items, research info, and the time and money to test them all out.
I used Harper’s Bazaar list of new beauty and skin care products for 2017 to compile a listing of items they recommend and that could possibly benefit my own personal needs. The one item I am most looking forward to testing out is Physician’s Formula #InstaReady Full Coverage Concealer which got rave reviews. Since it doesn’t make its debut till March, I’ll have to wait on that particular item but I’m really hopeful! (All I want is a concealer that hides dark circles, doesn’t cake in “laugh lines,” and makes any puffiness disappear. That’s all!)
I did pick up a new lip product listed since I was in the market for something different and in the winter, with pale looking skin, I need a pop of color that lasts. It’s the L’OrĂ©al Paris Infallible Lip Paints that is a pigment-packed lipstick and I am loving it. Bold color, with plenty of moisture for my winter-dry lips, and it lasts for a long time. I applied it in the morning and I could still see it later that day after eating and drinking.
You know, there was a time I would never buy makeup from a drugstore simply because I couldn’t try it on first. And once something was opened, you were stuck with it. But now there are so many retailers who offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee and easy return process on used products, so there’s no risk. (A few retailers who have easy return policies include CVS, Rite Aid, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Sephora and Ulta.)
Quality products that work, cost less money, and are easy to find at your local drugstores…here are the new 2017 beauty products that made the Harper’s Bazaar list…
