Here’s a super easy and quick way to add a pretty spring flower arrangement to your table. These also make nice little “parting” gifts for friends/family to take home after dining at your house or as a cute but inexpensive hostess gift.
I bought the blue watering can vase at the Dollar Tree (for a dollar). These come in 6 different colors so you can find your favorite hue or whatever matches your table. I got this little wicker basket at Goodwill for 29 cents. The floral supportĀ foam was also a dollar from the Dollar Tree and in this particular package, there’s 4 blocks. The floral moss also came from the Dollar Tree.
The floral support also comes in bigger blocks and circles. For my containers, I cut the foam in half. I will actually make four to six of the watering can arrangements, which will look nice on our table during dinner and then all the ladies can take one home.
I swear our cats are such hams, insisting on helping and taking every photo-op they can!
For the wicker basket, I actually soaked the floral foam and then used a skewer to poke holes in it for the carnations. The tulips have delicate stems and I needed a slightly bigger hole to stick them in so I just poked a pencil in the foam and then easily fit my flowers in….and this container holds water without leaking so there is water in it. Pack some floral moss around to cover up the foam and in about 5 minutes, you have a fresh, pretty and inexpensive arrangement. These are smaller arrangements (so my guests can take them home) so I’ll scatter several around the table for a bigger impact.
And of course you can mix up the flowers, using less expensive ones to fill the arrangement in, or use larger or smaller baskets or vases. The bag of floral moss has enough in it that I was able to make six arrangements…so for $8, (without the price of the flowers), I was able to make six arrangements. On an even tighter budget? Snip some greenery branches from your yard!
