Wandering the cosmetic aisles at any store can overwhelm me sometimes, especially with all the new makeup, skin care, and hair products that come out every year. Does it work? Is it worth the money?
Cosmopolitan came out with this list of 51 new products for 2015, with a lot of them being very affordable. Whether you’re looking for a trendy look, classic look, want a va va voom bombshell look, or you want to keep things minimal, this list offers something for everyone.
I personally tried 3 of the products listed and I have to say, I’m loving all 3. (I bought all the products I tried at Walmart so the prices I write are Walmart prices.)
I have very dry hair so I don’t have to wash it that often but it does get flat. The PANTENE PRO-V Root Reboot Dry Shampoo ($4.97) not only revived my hair without washing it but it made my hair smell great too. Perfect for my dry hair but works great on oily hair too. The formula contains natural tapioca which absorbs oil and gives you instantly refreshed hair without washing. What a time time-saver!
Late night? Dark circles under your eyes? You can wake those fatigued eyes up with NEUTROGENA Rapid Dark Circle Repair Eye Cream ($19.97). The packaging says this will instantly wake up tired eyes and start to reduce the look of dark circles in just one week. I tried this for a week on just one eye and while it didn’t totally get rid of them, I could definitely tell a difference. The very first time I applied the cream it didn’t lighten the darkness but that eye did look different from the other one…more alert.
Eyebrows can change the look of your entire face. Even if I’m doing a minimal makeup look for the day, I always add some color to my brows, which instantly lifts my face. This L’OREAL PARIS Brow Stylist Plumper ($7.97) was my favorite out of the products tested. Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers, the fiber-infused brow gel mascara allows you to fill in and set for tinted, thicker brows that last all day. I will say, the first time I tried this I went overboard and ended up with a gloppy mess and had to start over. But after that first time, it was so easy and made a huge difference.
Here’s a picture of me with one eye that I’ve used the NEUTROGENA Rapid Dark Circle Repair Eye Cream and the L’OREAL PARIS Brow Stylist Plumper. I can totally tell a difference between my eyes. And see how the darker brow kind of lifts that side of my face?
