First of all, I don’t think of myself as being a “Senior Citizen” at age 51 BUT if I can get a discount somewhere for having lived to this age, well… I’ll take it! A lot of discounts I found start at age 55, with the majority of them starting at age 62. The other day I was reading a local grocery store ad and saw that they offer a 10% discount for “seniors” a couple of times a month. My husband is now 55 so I told him, we’ll shop on those days. Hey, 10% is 10%. A lot of chains vary on the “senior” age, depending on the location.
If you’re of a certain age (or know someone who is), here’s a great list of who offers discounts, what age, and how much the discount is. If in doubt, just ask whatever establishment you’re at…
And for $16 a year, you (and your spouse) can join AARP, which offers discounts and much more, with some of the discounts starting at age 50.
