I know a lot of women, including myself, who typically gain weight during the cold winter months. There are parties, dinner celebrations, holiday meal, and treats tempting us. And then there’s those comfort foods a lot of us are cooking during this time of year when it feels good to have the oven going and the grill is covered with snow.
Web MD has this great article on 9 of the more fattening foods we typically eat in the winter with suggestions on how to lower the calorie content. I personally tend to not gain weight when I don’t ban anything, but rather, eat what I want in moderation. If I say, “I’m not going to eat any sweets during December”, I find myself craving them and then I end up pigging out on more than I should. Several of the foods on this list are things I’ve featured on our cooking videos, like chicken potpie. But if you eat a slice with salad and eat sensibly during the day, I say, go for it…..
