We’ve shared “life hacks” before and here’s 19 more that really work, can save you time, and aren’t expensive. As I was reading (and experimenting with,) some of these ideas, I asked myself, what exactly does life hack mean?
Oxford Dictionaries Online added the word lifehack in June 2011 with the definition reading, “A strategy or technique adopted in order to manage one’s time and daily activities in a more efficient way.”
Wikipedia says life hacking refers to any trick, skill, or novelty method that increases productivity and efficiency in all walks of life…anything that solves an everyday problem in an inspired, ingenious manner.
One of my personal favorite ideas mentioned is using muffin tins to hold condiments. But you can use more than ketchup, pickles and mayo in those tins. I like to put healthy snacks in them like carrots, celery, yogurt dips, etc., for the grandkids. I control the amount of snack and the kids like having choices. You can pick muffin tins up at the Dollar Tree for a dollar each. These are perfect for outdoor barbecues too…they won’t break, are easy to carry back and forth, and saves on the amount of dishes you’re using.
So, now that we know what life hacks are, here’s 19 clever ideas you can use throughout your home, making your life easier, more efficient, and that won’t cost you a ton of money.

*And just FYI…the dictionaries spell it lifehack, I’ve seen blogs write it as life hacks and I’ve seen it spelled life-hack. Which is why I used several different spellings.
