This helps you get some exercise in for the day without the need for a gym or equipment. This workout app is inspired by the 7 Minute Workout originally published in ACSM’s Health & Fitness Journal (American College of Sports Medicine.) Twelve high-intensity exercises, including squats, side planks, and push-ups to get you moving. Each exercise lasts for 30 seconds with a 10 second rest in between. You can also see the video and text descriptions of each exercise so you’ll know what you’re doing. Voice prompts so you can concentrate on the workout without the need for an alarm or counting. Excellent for travel, the office, or anytime you have 7 minutes to spare.

This is like having your own yoga instructor…for free. Set your device in front of your mat, start a practice and Pocket Yoga will guide you through your entire session. Three different practices, three different difficulty levels, three different durations with a total of twenty-seven different sessions. There’s also over 200 illustrated pose images showing correct posture and alignment and a dictionary of poses containing the descriptions and benefits of each pose.

From drugstores to high-end department stores, you can scan beauty product barcodes to get instant feedback and reviews on that product (get honest opinions on if it actually delivers what it promises). This meditation app, which Andy Puddicombe helped create(Puddicombe trained for more than 10 years as a Buddhist monk and has been called “The Expert’s Expert” by the London Times.) Puddicombe explains meditation in simple to understand terms, making it easy to be peaceful and unwind with Headspace.

The American Academy of Dermatology introduced Dermatology A-Z to serve consumers looking for skin health information. It includes access to “evidence-based, dermatologist-approved health care information for skin care and health.” And “expert insights on diseases affecting skin, hair, and nails, and the latest medical and cosmetic treatments.” There’s also links to dermatologists, hundreds of skin tips, and articles.
