Just discovered a new website that I’m loving….it’s called www.freecycle.org and it’s a site where people post things they no longer want and will give it away for FREE! And it also has a section where you can post items you’re looking to give away if you want. You can go to their website, type in Colorado Springs and it brings up all the local posts.
I love that it was created to help reduce waste and overflowing landfills, to be green and to help people at the same time. What a great idea! It’s free to join and I like their “rules and etiquette” for the site which includes; keep it clean, keep it legal, keep it free, keep it appropriate for all ages-no porn, alcohol, tobacco, drugs or weapons allowed. There’s no politics, spam, money, personal attacks or rudeness allowed (how refreshing!). It’s simply a site where you can give away things or receive them…all free and keeping it green. You can tell immediately by the zip code, intersection or general area posted next to the item for an approximate location-you might not want to spend the time or gas for a free book if it’s all the way across town (or maybe you would). I found items that ranged from furniture, clothing, baby items and toys to disposable razors and tin cans.
As with any site you use where you’ll be meeting a stranger (garage sales, Craig’s list, etc.) use common sense and always trust your instincts. Don’t allow strangers in your home (if it’s a large item, try to put it in the garage at least), try to meet in a public place and if that’s not possible–don’t go alone or show something alone. Have a friend or family member with you. Also have your cell phone if you have one and let someone know where you’re going (even when you have a second person with you). And if you’re getting anything for a baby or toddler, do your homework and make sure it’s safe and hasn’t been recalled (car seats, cribs, toys, high chairs, etc.) You can actually go to www.Recalls.gov to get a list of recalled items.
Anyway, it’s a fun site, is a non-profit group, wants less waste for our planet, and EVERYTHING IS FREE!….You know that saying, “One woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure.” Check it out!

I completely forgot about freecycle, thank you for reminding all of about it. I normally just donate all my unwanted items to the thrift stores, but when I need something like a fridge or washing machine, I usually turn to craigslist.

Within the year 2012 the younger generation of school kids have a lot of problems to contend with that’s no wonder the pharmaceutical business is thriving to such an extent. Not wearing the proper fashion was all I had to bother about, the youth of these days have a myriad of unnecessary accessories that they’re compelled to buy or at least beg their parents to purchase. Not having the most recent cellular phone can lead to becoming the butt of nasty comments, ridicule and sometimes even physical assaults. Becoming ugly has always trigger problems for the unfortunate few, Getting a little chest has plagued young girls for years even the family members car can bring ostracization. Considering all of these pitfalls and possible excuses for becoming an outcast, becoming short isn’t a problem or so one might believe, think again shorty!!!!!! Heel lifts
