Having visited all the Discover Goodwill stores in Colorado Springs, I decided to visit the Pueblo location. My friend (and 719Woman fashion contributor) Ashley decided to join me, cause she never turns down a Goodwill shopping trip.
When we first pulled up to the store, we thought it looked kind of small so we figured we’d be in and out fairly quickly. We walked into the store and with our first glance at the inside, we looked at one another, knowing we wouldn’t be leaving any time soon! I swear I actually think I got light-headed seeing how absolutely fabulous the store looked. We literally were giddy….seriously.
What made the store so wonderful? Well, I’m going to show you and let me just say, we wish every Goodwill store was a duplicate of this location, and that’s coming from two women who have visited a TON of Goodwill and other thrift stores.
One of the things we liked so much was the way the merchandise is displayed. Love how all the baskets look hanging from these displays…makes it really easy to see them and it looks great. I love using baskets for organizing office supplies, makeup, magazines and craft materials. Smaller baskets make great serving containers for buns and rolls, especially good when serving large crowds. The larger baskets make great trash cans, laundry baskets and “catch-all” containers.
I could kick myself for not buying this particular basket. It was $3.99 and I put it in and took it out of my basket at least five times, really wanting it but not needing it. I probably have at least 25 empty baskets waiting to be filled so that’s why I didn’t buy it….but I still wish I had bought it. This would be a great little picnic/wine basket, you could use it as a utensil/napkin holder for buffets, putting utensils in the bottle holders and napkins or plates in the other section. I wanted it for office supplies, which I would have used for holding my pens, scissors, stapler, paper, notes, etc.
Very organized craft supplies, which includes lots of patterns that have never been opened, sewing/knitting supplies, all kinds of different packages of crafts, scrapbooking supplies, etc. There were tons of items that had never been opened.
The store has the look and feel of “modern industrial” with exposed beams and as you can see, everything is very neat and clean! Didn’t feel like a thrift store at all.
Lots and lots of new party supplies….plates, napkins, invitations…all at low prices.
Loads of products you can use for organizing like all of these plastic containers and items in perfect condition like the ice-cube tray (perfect for freezing leftover wine or broths), soap holders and dispensers, silverware organizers, and more. If the shelf edge wasn’t blocking Ashley’s eyes, you’d see how “wild” they looked as she filled her basket faster than I did.
More office supply items to help you get better organized this year…all at a fraction of the cost you’d pay for new ones. And everything was in great shape.
Ashley and I both loved this tray that can be used for serving snacks and drinks, holding mail or magazines, or put it in your bathroom and it makes a cute towel holder. Lots of ways you can use this….$3.99.
We were so impressed with how clean the store was and it had not even a whiff of “used” scent. Perhaps this is one reason everything was shiny and dust-free? We were so impressed.
We weren’t for sure what this was, I thought it was a spool holder? But we were thinking it would make a great necklace holder! Ashley bought one (for a new business she’ll be starting soon which I can’t wait to share all the details).
Ashley found this fragrance warmer first. It had never been opened and was only $5.99. You can find similar sizes at Wal-Mart and Target for $20 and up. I really wanted this but since I was shopping as “719Woman”, I thought it might not look good if I forcefully took it from her.
Purses galore!
We both liked the signs on each rounder….
And we really liked how the rounders were not only organized by color, but by size too. Made shopping so easy.
Great selection of men’s wear.
The whole store had a “boutique” feel to it with “current” and stylish outfits worthy of any department store.
All the Discover Goodwill stores have a book section, we happen to really like this whole layout, compete with coffee, good and super cheap books, and plenty of tables and chairs in case you need a break. Loved the bar area where you can rest and scan a book or two while trying to decide what you want. Look how the floor shines!
Lots of shoes…
Neither one of us have a daughter, but we loved this little girl’s coat. It didn’t have a label in it but it looked and felt like an upscale item. I thought Ashley should have bought it for a future daughter.
Wedding and baby showers are fun to throw but they can be expensive. Everything on the top shelf was in excellent condition (the other stuff was in excellent condition too) and inexpensive, and would look cute at a baby shower. The bottles can be filled up with M&M’s or cotton swabs (for a game, the guests can guess how many items are in it). Let the mom or bride-to-be take home the “decorations” after the party.
Great selection of toys and games….
We loved this area! I mean how cool does this look?
In the “electronics” section….these are all chargers. I’m thinking no matter what kind of device you need to charge, you can find a replacement here, and pay a lot less.
Make sure you check out the “outdoor” section in your Goodwill store. These bikes were all in great shape and very inexpensive. (I didn’t even go near the horse because I would have immediately thought our grandsons NEEDED it!)
Ashley and I shopped for over two hours and I swear, we were like kids in a candy shop. We were so impressed with this store, if I could award it a prize I would. Thanks to store manager Jennifer for showing us around. Jennifer, your store is beautiful, organized, easy to shop in, so clean and your staff were friendly and helpful! We love when shopping is this cheap, fun and easy!
