I have had several women inquire if we’d be interested in their story ideas or money-saving tips and the answer is 100% YES! And while we do get a lot of our stories and ideas from other sources like the news, websites and magazines, as one woman, I realistically can’t try every single idea out myself.
What we have always strived to do is to not only share something, but make sure it’s something that the average woman can actually do! It’s one thing to read about great ideas but another to know if they really do work or help. If you have a money-saving recipe, a fashion find on sale, a fabulous thrift store purchase, green and or inexpensive cleaning tips….anything you have found or experienced that helped save you time, money or sanity….we’d love for you to share it.
We’re also interested in you sharing any “life experience” you might be facing or have gone through…or a challenge you’ve overcome and how. I have always believed that when we share and celebrate one another’s success, we help empower others. I, at the age of 50, am not going through what a young mom of two is facing right now. I’m not shopping for diapers or baby food so I don’t know what REALLY works best. I’m not in need of losing weight myself so I’m not trying new eating plans or exploring weight loss options. I don’t work outside the home so I’m not struggling to get breakfast made, kids dressed and ready for school, while getting ready to leave for work, only to get home and get homework done and dinner on the table. (Even though I do remember those days!)
It’s impossible for me to try out every bargain shampoo or cleaning product. I don’t know what the very best stain removal is, only what works best for me from what I’ve tried. And I certainly haven’t face every health issue out there so how can I know what natural or inexpensive supplement, food, herb or exercise might work?
Whether it be a tip, a picture or a whole story, we’d love to hear from you. We’ll publish your name (we don’t include last names unless you want us to, and if you don’t want your name used, we’ll certainly respect that too!) We don’t print political opinions or pieces because there are millions of other sources for that.
We’re also interested in knowing about your “challenges”. Perhaps you have a certain stain you’re trying to get rid of or you can’t get your kids to eat veggies. Maybe you’d like help on getting your closet organized or how to accessorize your favorite outfit. By us sharing your questions, challenges, tips or inspirational story, we can better help one another! If you’re out shopping and see a great bargain we could all take advantage of, take a picture and we’ll share it. Because as much as I like to shop, again, I can’t hit all the stores on a daily or even weekly basis! Even though it might be fun to try.
Bridal or baby showers, anniversary or birthday parties, family reunions or backyard get-togethers….again, those are events I’m not hosting on a regular basis, that others would benefit from getting tips on doing, in a budget-friendly way.
As I’ve said many times, my very favorite part of our site (for me) has been meeting women I most likely, never would have otherwise. Every time I walk away from a Goodwill makeover, I’ve met a new friend and learned something new. You know, before our site, I had never met our fashion contributor Ashley, who I now consider one of my closest friends. And because Ashley’s young enough to be my daughter, she helps keep me current in the fashion world. Last month I met JL Fields; vegan cook, lifestyle coach, educator and author when she joined me for a cooking segment and showed us how to make a delicious and inexpensive vegan meal www.jlgoesvegan.com , which I most likely wouldn’t have tried were it not for her. (JL’s a new friend now too! We hit it off so well, we, along with our husbands enjoyed a fun and fabulous dinner together.)
Lastly, if you know of a local event coming up, a great local store with a fabulous sale going on, a fund-raising event others might be interested in….let us know and we’ll share with our readers.
I hope to hear from you and be able to share your advice or questions with others!
