We have had so much fun with our Discover Goodwill makeover contests and our latest one, that starts today, has a couple of extra perks.
- First of all, we’ll do a shopping trip at whichever Colorado Springs Discover Goodwill store is closest to you (up to $25-which if you’ve ever shopped there, you know we can find a ton for that dollar amount!)
- The winner will also get a free hair style/cut from Ron Rather at Genesis Salon http://genesissalonco.com/Β Ron’s great and I know the winner will love her new “do”.
- The winner will also receive a $25 gift card to The Cliff House in Manitou Springs www.thecliffhouse.com !
- And then, we will feature the pictures and experience on KKTV’s Mom’s Everyday on Thursday, January 31st with host Jen Lennon! We’d love for the winner to be able to appear on the segment with me if possible, but if not, we’ll just share the pictures (you would need to meet me at the KKTV Channel 11 studio at 8:30 a.m. on January 31st).
So, how do you enter the contest? Simply add a comment below as to why you’d like/need a new look. If you have a friend you think would like this, feel free to enter her. All of our winners are picked at random. If you entered a comment on our Facebook page earlier this week, we’ll make sure your name is entered…..
The contest starts today, Friday, January 11th and ends at midnight on Thursday, January 17th. We’ll announce the winner on Friday the 18th.
Good luck!

I would LOVE a new makeover for the new year and to have lunch at the Cliff House since I have never had a chance to try their food. Since I’m starting school for my culinary degree on Monday a shorter hair style would be so much easier to manage and tuck under my chef hat. Plus I never had a chance to wear my party attire last year because a lot of parties were canceled and I ended up catching the flu for your Birthday bash. This would really help me out too since I’m on a tight budget due to the holidays and having to buy books and my knives

I’m playing single mom of 3 while my husband finishes out his army career in NY. I never do much for myself. So a day about me would be AWESOME!
Jeni says
It’s a new year, I need a new look! π
Rebekah Cheung says
Getting a new look would be fantastic for me because this year I am making a commitment to taking better care of myself so I can take better care of others! π
Teresa says
Oh, I seriously need help with my hair! I haven’t had a truly new hairstyle in *years* and desperately need professional guidance as to what will work with my ridiculously round face, and fine, thin, unbelievably straight hair!
Plus, who doesn’t adore shopping at Goodwill and lunch at the fabulous Cliff House π

Pick me! You know me through my daughter Hannah. I am always so focused on The Blessings, it would be nice to win something fun and maybe D. and I could actually have a date. Sweet blessings.

I’m 36 years old, married with a soon to be 4 yr old. I work full time. My grandfather who is 82 lives with us as well. When I am not at work, I am busy running the small things in the home such as cooking, laundry and appointment making for all in the house. I currently only have 1 pair of jeans that I wear that do not have a hole in them. My last haircut was almost a year ago. I put my family before myself because they are my priority and I love to see their smiles. A new make over would be an awesome way to start the year.
Joanne Jonas says
It would be fun to put myself in someone else’s hands and see how they could make me look. I’ve gone from SAHM to working outside the home and I think my look is still SAHM unfortunately. My husband has health issues so I feel guilty spending money on me!

I would love a makeover! Haven’t done anything to my hair in almost a year! My mom used to be my hairstylist and did it for free. Since I moved to Colorado – I can’t afford it. Cost is enough to keep my three boys with hair cuts so mine always gets put on the back burner.
Laurie says
This is very nice to do for someone!!!!
Amanda Brooks says
This sounds SO fun!! I’m a SAHM to a 2 y/o little boy and also have 1 on the way π I haven’t had an updated look since before I was pregnant with my little boy. I could also desperately use a date night with the hubby and where better to go than The Cliff House!!
Jessica McDonald says
It would be so crazy to have a make over. Haven’t put all that much thought in to my look since I became a mother 9 1/2 yrs ago….
Bruce says
It’s a new year, the days are getting longer, spring will be here soon.
I could go for a “spring” haircut and a shave. The other schwag sounds super too.

I’m a stay at home mother of a wonderful 3 year old boy and married to the love of my life who happens to be a soldier. We’ve gone through 2 deployments and 3 moves within 5 years. It’s really taken a toll on me and somewhere in it all I’ve lost myself a bit. I dont feel like the beautiful woman i use to be so I don’t spruce myself up as often as I use to. Dates nights become fewer and fewer with my husbands training schedule and the need to save money.
I would really love this opportunity to have a wonderful night out with my husband and to feel like a beautiful wife again.
BARBARA TRUSSELL says
I am a step mother to a severe needs child. I have been step mother for 10 years. I often do not have the time to spend on myself. My step son is 16 and will always live with us. It would be nice to have a “me” day. It feels selfish even saying that. I just wish I could give him a better quality of life. I can’t & that is a very hard pill to swallow. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Donna Dorney says
I desperately need a makeover! Don’t we all! We moved to Louisville last year, but have a son working at Cedar Springs and I could combine the trip to the Springs with a visit to see him and a makeover. Not to mention, I love shopping at Goodwill! I have found so many treasures there before!
Jennifer Kelly says
Would love to win this! As a sahm of three boys, most of my time and money go to them.

I would love to win! I’m a stay at home mom who never gets just time for my appearance anymore! And it used to be huge to me!
Ashley McNeil says
I would love to win this prize. I am a stay at home mom of a 1 year old and would love to have a new look!
As a wife to a Canadian Military member, we are very far away from home as well as our friends and family. While we do have support here, it is definitely hard to find time to have an afternoon off, and lugging a 1 yr old around town is hard on the body!
I am busy these days taking my son to Physical Therapy 2x a week and working with him daily to try and meet his goals (he was 10 wks premature so we are constantly working to help him catch up to his real age developmentally!)
I would SOOO appreciate this prize!
