The thing I’m most thankful for this year is just being alive. I’ve had a lot of people in my life die young so I’m thankful I’m still breathing! There’s a lot of people in the world with hardships I’ll never experience but we all experience our own trials and tribulations, regardless of what they are. Sometimes, when things are really hard, it can be easy to forget the things in our life we do have to be grateful for….and to remember that life can get better.
I’m thankful for seeing the “good side” of people this year when cities suffered from natural disasters and communities pulled together to help. We saw it first hand in Colorado Springs with the Waldo Canyon Fire. We also saw it in tragic events like the Aurora Theater Shooting. People saw the need and had the desire to help those hurting….and did something about it.
This year I fell behind in keeping the house clean, the yard looking decent, and cooking dinners for my husband because I was working so hard on our site. There have been many times where I felt overwhelmed with how far behind I was feeling…but then I’d think, but I HAVE a house and a yard and food and electricity….I’m thankful to have a house that gets messy at times.
I’m thankful for my family and friends. I’m thankful that I’m surrounded by thankful people. None of us take anything for granted, cheer each other’s successes and know that we’re fortunate, no matter what hard times we’re going though. We have healthy children and grandchildren who all get along and love each other. I’m very thankful that Paul and I have been married five years and that I was blessed to find him. I’m so very happy that my son Tyler and I have a fabulous relationship and not only love each other, but like each other.
I’m thankful that I am surrounded by our animals and pets! They make me smile and laugh every day….they also raise my blood pressure at times but I’m thankful for that too! We live in a beautiful area where I watch the fox, deer, bear, squirrels and birds pass by our door….and tease our cats. Animals make me happy and I appreciate where we live.
I’m SO THANKFUL that my house (that I owned before Paul and I met), just sold! Thank you Eric Scott www.stuartscottltd.com for getting it sold so quickly and painlessly! (If you’re in the market, he’s wonderful!) It’s a huge load off my shoulders. And I wish the new occupants a wonderful life in it.
And I’m thankful for this website and for Trig and Paul’s encouragement and everyday help in making it look as good as it does and teaching me. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I was capable of doing this! I’m fortunate to have met so many wonderful people who I most likely would never have met, had it not been for this. And Ashley, a new dear friend that I only met because of our site…she helps me (for free) all the time! And I’m thankful for having viewers that have helped spread the word about us. I am constantly encouraged by you and am glad that our stories have been of interest and help to you.
Our life is not perfect or always easy but we are grateful for what we have and for the possibilities in our life. We ARE so very thankful for all we have.
