I just found an article on Yahoo! Shine about “What NOT to wear to the office“.
Now, it’s been a long time since I’ve worked in an office but I just assumed that most businesses had a dress code? I know that when the temperature gets warmer, it might be more tempting to relax the attire, especially if your work place doesn’t have an air conditioner but I’m thinking most of this list is pretty standard. A lot of businesses don’t allow tanks or spaghetti strap tops/dresses but if you wear a cute cardigan or lightweight jacket, you can still feel “summer-y”, yet still appropriate.
I once worked in an office where pantyhose was required with dresses and skirts (in Texas) and the minute you’d walk outside, it felt like they would melt into your legs! Is that even a requirement even more?
I agree with the chipped nail polish, it can make the best of outfits look worse when paired with chipped, half on/half off nail polish (on the fingers or the toes). Does your work place have a dress code? Do you agree with Yahoo! Shine’s list? Anything else that you think is unprofessional to wear to work? What do you think?
