I met up with our second Goodwill makeover winner, Michele, and found her a fabulous outfit!
Michele is a mom of four, ages ranging from 7-13. Her husband and kids accompanied her (the kids were so well-behaved and excited for her and her husband was patient and very much approved her outfit when we were finished!) for our shopping spree and let me just say, she was our easiest to fit so far. Michele hasn’t worn a dress in over ten years so we weren’t going to “force” her in an outfit she wouldn’t be comfortable in so we shopped first for a great pair of pants. My friend Cindy was with us so we started on the racks of pants and quite frankly I was worried if we’d find something because pants and jeans can be hard to find sometimes. But Cindy immediately found a pair of Ann Taylor pants that fit Michele perfectly! (And they were on sale that day for 30% off the ticket price so the price was a whopping $2.79…for Ann Taylor!)
We then finished up the outfit with a Chaps black cardigan (priced $4.99 but half off that day so it was $2.50!), a really cute black and white Karen Scott sleeveless top ($2.99), a pair of black Life Stride low-heeled pumps that Michele said were very comfy ($3.99 but 30% of for a cost of $2.79) and then we finished the whole look with a simple black bead necklace for $1.99…..for a complete outfit of shoes, pants, top, cardigan AND necklace…..$13.06….WOW!
She looks great, comfortable, each piece can be worn with other items she already owns and we did it all in an hour and fifteen minutes! And I want to add that not only was Michele a great sport and very nice but when she was notified that she was one of our winners, she actually wrote me saying that she had never won anything before and was very excited about it but that if I thought someone needed the “prize” more than her, she’d give it up! It actually made me teary-eyed when I read that because that captured the “spirit” I’ve wanted to create with our website. But I told her she won it fair and square and you know what…..she’s as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside!
JustFYI….Life Stride pumps like Michele’s are (new) about $49, Ann Taylor pants run anywhere from $80-$100, I found a similar Chaps black cardigan for $40 and Karen Scott tops that are similar to what we found at Goodwill run around $24….brand new, this outfit would have cost about $200!

Michelle you look marvelous! Kim and her crew are very wonderful people and have the skills necessary to help all of those re-entering the work force. The outfit is one that will work with so many other pieces of clothing, and all of them are very attractive on you. Congrats on winning the prize and good luck in all of your endeavors!

Tammy and I do a lot of bargain shopping together and I am so pleased that she invited me along on her makeovers. We get very excited when we shop and find great deals but that doesn’t compare to how exciting it is to help someone else find things they may have never chosen for themselves….and they look so good. Michele was a sweetheart and she looked fantastic! Thanks again Tammy for letting me share in this very generous and fun part of 719Woman
