Once a week we’ll feature a meal for 4 for $10.00 or less.
If you look at the list of ingredients required for each recipe you might think there’s no way all those ingredients cost less than $10.00…
…and you’d be right, IF you were to to take that list and buy everything at one time. That’s because the price is based on per serving.
For example:
Let’s say you’ve run out of olive oil and the recipe calls for 2 tablespoons. You’ll have to pay anywhere from $5.00 to $12.00 (or more-depends on the type you buy) for that bottle. But the 2 tablespoons required for the recipe doesn’t cost that much! I just bought a bottle of Filippo Berio Extra Virgin Olive Oil for $5.00 on sale. The serving size is 1 tablespoon and the bottle contains 50 servings so the 2 tablespoons required actually only costs 20 cents!
And the recipes will be based on what’s on sale that week. So for the $10.00 meal featured each week, we’ll include where we bought the main ingredients and how much they cost at the time.
